This truly unique home bar was crafted to fill two critical needs of an avid bourbon enthusiast. First was to store their vast collection of some of the finest bourbons money can buy. Second, and most importantly, a place to sip and share those superb American spirits with fellow enthusiasts. To pay tribute to the craft of distilling, this bar was built entirely of reclaimed red and white oak, to connect with the barrels used to age bourbon. A Shou Sugi Ban treatment, which is an ancient Japanese technique of charring, cleaning and sealing wood with natural oil for preservation, was used to replicate the charring on the inside of a bourbon barrel. This treatment was given to all base components and then further personalized with a barrel top of the clients favorite distillery on display at the front of the bar. An all oak countertop, sealed with bar top epoxy, highlights the depth only achieved by reclaimed oak and provides a lasting and durable finish to this one-on-a-kind piece.
