The vision for the Penn State Bar was to create a one-of-a-kind statement piece for entertaining guests during Penn State football weekends that had a warm rustic appearance, highlighted with ties to Penn State.

PSU Dark Blue was blended with the warm amber hue of a Waterlox tung oil finish, soaking into the low areas left by the large circle saw mills that cut these boards out of large, old-growth trees. Each board was then carefully jointed, planed and ripped to widths to retain the PSU Dark Blue throughout the remaining saw marks, nail holes and other imperfections.

A blue dyed concrete countertop embedded with Penn State from laser cut steel letters highlights the rear countertop and further ties into the Penn State theme. A large bar top crafted from reclaimed floor joists, full of character marks from their previous life and sealed with table top epoxy cap off a custom home bar created fully from century old reclaimed wood.
